The iTQi awarded 2 stars Superior Taste Award 2007 to Saint-Élie natural spring water

On Friday June 1 2007, Les Sources Saint-Élie inc. won a prestigious Superior Taste Award 2007 with 2 stars from the International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi). The official award ceremony took place in Brussels, Belgium.

The international quality recognition is a coup for a small Québec natural spring source, as the tough judging panel is made up of some of Europe 's leading Sommeliers and beverage experts.

iTQi is an independent Chef- and Sommelier- based organization dedicated to judging, honouring and promoting superior tasting food and beverages. Products are evaluated by panels of renowned European Chefs and Sommeliers, member of the 10 most prestigious European culinary organizations such as Maîtres Cuisiniers of France and Belgium, Academy of Culinary Arts in the UK, Académie Culinaire of France, Federación de Asociaciones de Cocineros de España, Verband der Köche Deutschlands, Jeunes Restaurateurs d'Europe, Federerazione dei Cuochi Italiana, Euro-Toques and the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale (ASI).

For the tasting, iTQi presented each product on a strictly blind basis while focusing on the intensity of pleasure during the tasting around five criteria: first impression, taste, visual aspect, aroma and texture.

Saint-Élie Spring

The spring at the Saint-Élie-de-Caxton is located at the edge of a very vast territory covering more than one million square kilometers; practically uninhabited and including Québec Great North. This spring is particularly well isolated from the surface by a thick watertight clay layer preventing any contamination from the surface. Geologically and geographically the Saint-Élie-de-Caxton's Spring is located in an exceptional and most privileged environment.

Saint-Élie Water
Saint-Élie water springs from a subterranean contributing area made of crystalline rocks of the Canadian Shield from the Precambrian epoch; these rocks are considered among the oldest on earth, that is to say more than 600 million years. Saint-Élie water is naturally filtered for over 60 years in very hard crystalline rock, hence giving it a great pureness and a better taste. Saint-Élie water has a temperature of 41°F. and is bottled at the spring. Its unique balance in minerals gives an extraordinary good taste to Saint-Élie water.
